![]() ![]() ![]() since lately I've noticed a very strong desire to replay older games for the sake of refreshing my memory, not liking that I've forgotten the story/gameplay/etc. I think the main correlation actually has nothing to do with the genres themselves, but with the approach. Resident Evil and Silent Hill series, Twisted Metal series, Half-Life games and Mirror's Edge games. I also enjoyed escape games with some riddles when I was younger.įavorites are: Final Fantasy series (played every game and a few spinoffs), with FF7 remake and FF14 being my top favorite games, FF7/8/9/10/11 and Chrono Cross being right after that. I've actually often more fun playing games like GTA or Assassin's Creed and I sometimes enjoy those mindless mini games for relaxation or when I want to think about something and be a bit distracted at the same time. This makes me start those games new over and over again and it's not really fun. And when I try to settle on smaller ideas, be less perfectionistic and more spontaneous I often feel immediately bored, limited or like I would just create an awful mess. Then I spend so much time with thinking about the perfect, well organized concept or setting things up, that it feels more like work than like something fun and relaxing. It feels like the creative part of these games is actually stressing me out, because I've so many different and usually way too big ideas about how I want things to be and can't stick with one (I think that could be more MBTI related). I somehow like relaxed games like the Sims series or Animal Crossing, but on the the other hand I often feel like I enjoy the idea more than the actual game or like I really want to like it but actually don't.
